Mission Statement

We are dedicated to supporting the much needed medical research to find a cure for Mesothelioma and to help patients and their families devastated by the diagnosis of malignant Mesothelioma.

Definition

Malignant mesothelioma (pronounced "Meez-o-thee-lee-o-ma"), also known as "asbestos cancer," is a rare form of cancer found in the lining of the chest, lungs, or abdomen. This lining is called the mesothelium and is where mesothelioma gets its name. Mesothelioma is an incurable cancer.

"Mesothelioma is a difficult and challenging disease - no one deserves to get mesothelioma. My hope is that with increased awareness, funding for research and new clinical studies we will be able to extend the life of patients with mesothelioma and decrease their suffering," states Pasi A. Janne M.D., Ph.D., Lowe Center for Thoracic Oncology, Assistant Professor of Medicine, Harvard Medical School.
